Lubbock is home to Covenant Health, the region’s largest health system, offering the most comprehensive health care services available between Dallas and Albuquerque. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) is consistently ranked in the top 120 medical programs in the country and houses the TTUHSC School of Medicine, TTUHSC School of Nursing and TTUHSC School of Allied Health. The University Medical Center (UMC) is not only a Level I Trauma Center, but is also a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, making UMC the only hospital system within 400 miles to hold both distinctions.

Covenant Health

Covenant Health is the largest health care institution in the region with 1,326 licensed beds, more than 5,000 employees and a medical staff of more than 600 physicians at its cornerstone facilities. Covenant is a member of St. Joseph Health System in Orange County, Calif. Cornerstone hospitals are Covenant Medical Center, Covenant Women’s and Children’s and Covenant Specialty Hospital. Other system hospitals are Covenant Hospital Levelland and Covenant Hospital Plainview, along with 12 other affiliated hospitals across the region.

LUBBOCK HEART AND SURGICAL HOSPITAL

Lubbock Heart and Surgical Hospital is a 74-bed licensed facility, which includes 16 cardiac coronary care beds. All patient rooms are private and equipped with the latest technology to meet the special needs of cardiovascular patients. Lubbock Heart Hospital provides a specially-designed and equipped emergency department aimed at the treatment of cardiovascular emergencies. Care teams are also trained to treat acute emergencies in the event of an injury or illness.

Texas Tech Physicians is the medical practice of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Each office is headed by physicians educating tomorrow’s leading healthcare professionals, meaning care providers are at the forefront of the latest in medical technology and patient care. here

University Medical Center

UMC is the primary teaching hospital for the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Through the partnership with Texas Tech, the health system produces groundbreaking research and innovative technology, including a number of nationally-recognized clinical trials in breast and prostate cancer. UMC also houses the Timothy J. Harnar Burn Center, the only one of its kind between Denver and Dallas.
