Lubbock Safe!

Home » Lubbock Safe!

As business resumes and visitors plan their trip to Lubbock, locals are taking every precaution to ensure a healthy experience. City officials launched a campaign called Lubbock Safe! to ensure that as social-distancing restrictions are relaxed people are informed and remain safe.

Lubbock Safe! is a voluntary certification program designed for local businesses to promote the safety of their storefront while giving the community and visitors the assurance that Lubbock stores, boutiques, restaurants and other businesses are exceeding the minimum state standards to reopen.

“The Lubbock Economic Recovery Taskforce’s Lubbock Safe! Program was a monumental undertaking,” said Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope. “Individuals representing business, education, healthcare and non-profits – both large and small, served on LERT. Their hard work, ingenuity, and teamwork in creating such a detailed and thorough plan epitomizes our West Texas can-do spirit. Lubbock Safe! is a voluntary program to help safely reopen Lubbock’s economy and reassure the public that participating businesses are taking the extra measures necessary to protect the health and safety of their customers and employees. I applaud this creative and thoughtful program.”

We find surety that Lubbock Safe! is working to promote respectful and clean guidelines to ensure the health and safety of our citizens. The strength of our city lies in the resilient business owners, community memebers and neighbors who contribute to a more prosperous, engaging and inviting Lubbock!
