From the Hub City to the world

Lubbock’s bustling manufacturing and distribution industries really put the ‘Hub’ in Hub City. From pumps to glasses to paletas, you may be surprised by how many things Lubbock helps make. These products often go far beyond the city’s borders, reaching people and companies worldwide.

Leprino Foods

One of those companies is Leprino Foods. As the world’s largest producer of mozzarella cheese, Leprino’s arrival was a huge win for our community. The 850,000-square-foot facility is the largest capital investment in Lubbock’s history, at $1 billion, and created 600 jobs. Leprino’s investment has long-lasting effects that extend well beyond city limits, with the project expected to generate a little more than $10 billion in statewide economic impact. Overall, this addition has made Lubbock an even bigger player in the Texas economy, as well as on a national and international level.

Tropicale Foods

Tropicale Foods brings something sweet to local manufacturing: paletas. More than that, Tropicale brought a $66 million investment and 500 jobs after retrofitting an existing facility in Lubbock. Now, the company offers authentic flavors, high-quality ingredients and rich culture to Lubbock and beyond.

Arbor Eyewear

Lubbock made it possible to bring the vision for Arbor Eyewear to life. This local manufacturer is unique in that it is one of the only eyewear producers throughout the entire United States. With customers far and wide, Lubbock has been a strong home base for the company, providing easy access to the East Coast, West Coast and everywhere in between. The workforce has also been a huge asset to Arbor Eyewear as they continue crafting high-quality frames right here at home.

Pumps

When it comes to pump manufacturing, Lubbock is a hot spot for businesses to relocate to or establish operations. Like Arbor Eyewear, this city offers an excellent central location with proximity to ports and major roadways like I-27. Lubbock is also home to big players in other industries that utilize pumps, like agriculture, industrial factories and more, which provides easy supply chain access as well. Plus, with several universities, colleges and Career and Technical Education Programs (CTE) offered by high schools, there’s a strong workforce pipeline.

Lubbock has been a successful place for businesses of all kinds to call home. If you’re ready to make your dream company a reality, we’re ready to welcome you to West Texas.
