100 Red Raiders, One Celebration
What is Red Raider 100?
As Texas Tech’s Head Football Coach, Joey McGuire says, everything runs through Lubbock. If you’ve ever spent time in the Hub City, you know it’s a special place, especially for Red Raiders. The education, community and memories made at Texas Tech are impactful, and in turn, so are the people who come from the university and the work they contribute to their own community, and sometimes on a national or international level.
The Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA) wants to honor some of those founders, directors and managers through Red Raider 100. This new program highlights companies from all over, connects successful leaders across different industries and aims to highlight the ways Lubbock has grown and developed over the years.
What is Red Raider 100?
Red Raider 100 recognizes the fastest-growing businesses owned, operated or founded by Texas Tech alumni. You don’t have to have your degree from the university, but you must have been a student at Texas Tech University, the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center or Texas Tech Law School. The company must have been in business for 5+ years as of December 31, 2025, and must have verifiable revenues of at least $100,000 per year, each year from 2023-2025.
The top nominees are ranked based on financial information submitted to RBMS, LLP, the official accounting firm of Red Raider 100. You only need to share one of the following: audited, reviewed or compiled financial statements, copies of page 1 of the company’s tax return or a notarized letter from an external accountant attesting to revenue level for 2023, 2024 and 2025. Your financial information is kept confidential. LEDA will never see these documents, and they will go directly to our third-party accounting firm. The only things released will be the name and location of the company, the name of the Red Raider, the year the business was founded and the business’s growth rate over the last three years. The process and criteria are similar to other universities with this kind of program, such as Texas A&M, the University of Texas at Austin, Louisiana State University and many others.
What’s Next?
Whether you nominate your business or you are nominated by someone else, you will receive an application. Applications open September 1, 2026, and nominees have until November 1, 2026, to complete that application. You must apply to be considered for the program.
Those who have qualified for the Red Raider 100 will be notified via email in December. Later, in early 2027, LEDA will host an event to recognize the outstanding group of Red Raider leaders and their businesses in Lubbock, Texas. An alphabetical list of the top 100 companies will be released, but the numbered list will be revealed at this event.
Why it Matters:
Lubbock is a meaningful city for those who attended Texas Tech, and LEDA wants this outstanding group to see the growth and change here since their time at the university. We also want to provide an opportunity for those in the program to connect with others who are driving innovation, creating jobs and contributing to economic growth around the globe. More than that, being a Red Raider means striving for honor, and LEDA is proud to recognize the people and companies exemplifying that through their work through Red Raider 100.
