Like many great breweries, Good Line Beer Co. started in a garage. Founded by brewers Chris Troutman and Shawn Phillips, the company has quickly grown into a key player in Lubbock’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. As part of the thriving local business community, Good Line Beer has benefitted from the support of organizations like Market Lubbock, Inc. and the Texas Tech University Innovation Hub at Research Park.

Since its inception, Good Line Beer Co. has been dedicated to crafting high-quality, approachable beers while fostering a welcoming taproom experience. Nestled in the Tech Terrace neighborhood, the brewery has expanded its reach with the recent opening of its Public House in Wolfforth, TX. Their mission is simple: to deliver top-notch brews, cultivate an inclusive community space and create curated events complemented by great music and even better friends.

Their dedication to craft and quality has not gone unnoticed. At the 2025 Texas Craft Brewers Cup, Good Line Beer Co. took home multiple awards, solidifying its status as a premier brewery in Texas. Competing against 162 breweries and 931 entries from across the state, Good Line won:

• Gold Medal in the Session and Standard Dark German & Czech Lagers category for Electric Candlelight, a traditional German Schwarzbier.
• Silver Medal in the Hazy IPA category for Clouds of Fog, a hop-forward hazy IPA.
• Silver Medal in the Strong Hoppy Beer category for Dream Operator, a double hazy IPA with tropical and citrus notes.
• Bronze Medal in the American IPA category for Bitter Buffalo, a “Dust Coast” style IPA.

These wins led to Good Line Beer Co. being named 2025 Brewery of the Year in the under 620-barrel group, marking the first time this prestigious title was awarded to a brewery outside the “Texas Triangle” of major metropolitan cities.

The Texas Craft Brewers Cup is a celebration of the state’s brewing innovation and craftsmanship. Judged by industry professionals, the competition showcases the best of Texas craft beer and strengthens the bonds within the brewing community.
