The Lubbock MSA’s hotel room revenues stalled briefly during the recession but avoided a major dive (as was seen in much of the U.S.). The region’s hotel revenues have since resumed an upward trajectory in line with pre-recession growth levels.
Occupancy rates in the Lubbock MSA outperformed the statewide average by a wide margin a decade ago, but the local rate has since realligned more closely with the statewide average. During the recent post-recession recovery, both the state and local rates have been closely synchronized.
